Drawing No. 1: I think it's Beyonce

I was going to write today, but I got distracted. Because I wanted to be productive, I drew this:

is it Beyonce? is it Julia Roberts?

I think I need to work on my shading technique and proportions. I was only in art school for less than a term before I decided it wasn't for me. Other than that, I don't really have any formal training. I probably could have continued taking art classes as an elective. It would have consumed all of my free time. I had friends in the college of design that would still be in the studio at 3am!

I enjoy sketching. It calms me. Knowing I'm not under pressure from other people to do it just right, I have the freedom and luxury to learn at my own pace.
